|
After leaving MGM over censorship issues, Tex Avery, the creator of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, introduced Droopy, a phlegmatic basset hound who lulls bad guys into a false sense of security by acting slow and dumb as he outwits such enemies as the conniving Butch the Irish bulldog and the thieving, libidinous Wolf. This double-disc collection contains all 24 of the Droopy shorts produced by Avery between 1943 and 1958—most of them digitally remastered—as well as a retrospective look at Avery's career narrated by animation historian John Canemaker.
