Description
|
|
|
|
Thirty years ago they were lovers, and their affair fascinated a nation. Louis Ruinard (Jean Rochefort) was a film director and Alice d'Abanville (Charlotte Rampling) was his muse, until Alice abruptly left France for England and never looked back. Alice has established herself as a first lady of English theater and is now married to wealthy Lord Evelyn Gaylord (Ian Richardson) and has a son, Paul (James Thiérrée). But when Louis receives a lifetime achievement award, Alice is asked to present it to him, and Louis becomes captivated by her all over again. Newcomer Thiérrée received a César (French "Oscar") nomination for his performance in this 2006 film. In English and French with English subtitles.
